Lazy morning

She slowly woke up, the sun shining on her face and the warmth of two arms around her. Max, she smiled sleepily. She raised her head slightly to check the time before she realized it was a weekend and neither of them had any plans for the day. She contemplated briefly getting up before deciding that she really didn't want to and that it was so nice and warm right here that getting out of bed and having the initial shock of not having that warmth was not something she was after now. She did however manage to slowly and carefully turn around so that she was now facing Max.
Max, her husband, lover, friend...she loved watching him while he was sleeping. There was this absolutely adorable look on his face when he was sleeping. Relaxed, peaceful, boyish, she smiled softly as she brushed some hair out of his face. She loved him so much, her hero. A knight in jeans and a t-shirt.
She stayed like that for a while, just sort of watching him sleep and snuggling in his arms.
Life was just about perfect right here.

Date: 2008-09-16 04:12 pm (UTC)... he'd not thought he would ever have 'normal'. Not that he tried to avoid it. But wayward wizard angry little children who left home before completing elementary school weren't supposed to get 'normal', were they?
Not that normal covered it completely. But it was perfect, every moment when it was true. Every moment like this, the scent of her filling him, flooding through him. The feel of her body against his. Her amazing body. Which he loved every fraction of an inch over.
The sounds of her. Breathing. Tiny movements. Awake. All the better.
He didn't do much. Didn't even speak yet. Just tightened his arm around her gently, then started running his thumb lightly over the spot of her that he could reach. Tiny things.
And just drinking in the presence of her.
Nothing short of miraculous, that. And even for Max, miracles - in a fashion - being a specialty (well, his and all wizards') it was...
Beyond his wildest dreams, this life.
